The origin of servo motor
Servo: from the meaning of .Greek word "slave". People want to make "servo organization” into a docile tool, so as to subject to the requirements of control signal. Before the signal came, the rotor is stationary; when the signal came, it immediately turns the rotor; but when the signal disappears, the rotor can be immediately stopped. Because of its "server" performance, hence the name was adopted.
Servo motors are generally divided into DC servo and AC servo. as to servo DC motors, the advantages is that it with accurate speed control, hard torque speed characteristic , simple principle, easy operation methods and cheaper price. But it also accompanies with some disadvantages, such as brush commutation, speed limits, additional resistance generated, wear particles (for clean room).
